Zolpimist is the spray version of Zolpidem Tartrate that is taken orally for faster absorption as compared to the tablet version of the drug as it gets absolved via the mouth lining.
The suggested dosage for adults is 10 mg of Zolpidem Tartrate when it is in
the tablet or spray forms and 12.5 gm when in the extended release form. In
seniors, the starting dose is 5 mg for the usual tablets and 6.25 mg for the
extended release version. Elderly patients have to take small quantities as
compared to their younger counterparts because they have a lower capacity to
get rid of Zolpidem Tartrate from their body system and presence of higher
amounts of this medication may result in side effects.
Alcohol brings about addictive effects when used in combination with
Zolpidem Tartrate. Thus, you should never take the two at the same time. In
addition, other sedatives should never be used along with Zolpidem Tartrate
as they can also cause addictive effects.
